Army E5 (Retired)
Matt's truck was hit by an IES on December 7th, 2011. After extensive surgeries he had both legs amputated and was in Fort Sam, Houston for over a year learning to use prosthetics and adjusting to life with TBI and as an amputee. He never felt sorry for himself and continues to participate in wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, completed the Spartan Beast Race in Breckenridge, the Mountain Incline and wants to conquer Pikes Peak next. Nothing will stop him and he's motivation to all. He is the proud father of a four year old daughter and a six year old son. He volunteers with wounded veterans warriors and other organizations as much as he can. He's embodies what it means to be a true hero.
